The University of Connecticut Dance Team recently returned from Universal Dance Association College Camp held at Southern Connecticut State University where they recieved top honors.
The week began with Home Routine Competition. Each team is invited to bring a two-minute routine in their own style to be evaluated by the staff. This year, UConn added more difficult skills and utilized individual talents for a fun and energetic performance. The team practiced for 8 hours each day during the week leading up to camp and their hard work paid off. The UConn Dance Team took first place in Division IA!
The team was most proud to be awarded Most Collegiate in Division 1A. This is a prestigious award, vote on by the staff. It is given to the team they feel best represents themselves and their school throughout camp and exemplifies an overall collegiate image. UConn was honored to take home the trophy, and cannot wait to show off these qualities throughout the upcoming season.
After a long, hard week, the team was proud of all their accomplishments and their representation of the University of Connecticut. Go Huskies!
